Luxury Vinyl Plank & Vinyl Composite Tile
LVP does not require regular maintenance beyond simple washing. It is also slightly more water resistant than wood based flooring products when in click form, and is completely waterproof when planks are glued directly to the subfloor.
VCT is always used in commercial and industrial settings and must be glued to the sub-floor directly. It then needs to be stripped of its top coat before 6 coats of industrial wax are applied to the surface.
Every 3 months VCT will need to be stripped and re-waxed. The waxing process reduces damage to the, often expensive, tiles and keeps the tile shiny and reflective. One of the main reasons you see these types of tiles in large shopping spaces, such as Walmart and grocery stores, is because of the durability in extremely high traffic areas, as well as the light reflecting characteristics, which brightens the space cutting down on lighting costs.

VCT & LVP Preparation
Both products can be installed on either wood or concrete sub-floors. Installation requires an exact preparation process that needs to be followed closely to ensure that the flooring is not susceptible to denting or delaminating away from the sub-floor.
This process is detailed below.
VCT & LVP Preparation
1. Sub-floor needs to be scraped or sanded to remove all bumps and debris
2. Vacuuming of sub-floor to ensure there is no dust or debris remaining
3.Leveling of the clean sub-floor. Depending on the depth of the leveling compound required it may be necessary to use multiple types of concrete (foundational and self-leveling). The floor may also need to be leveled in stages to ensure each stage has adequate time to cure.
4.Once the floor is leveled multiple coats of skim-coat patch need to be applied as the floor needs to be perfectly smooth. The roughness of the floor after leveling will determine how many coats of skim will be required. Generally, a level floor will require 1-3 coats to ensure a glass-like smooth surface.
VCT Installation
Once Preparation has been carefully completed, the rooms are measured and lines are snapped to create a grid outline in which the tiles will be laid. Next, an industrial glue is spread on the prepared floor and fans are placed to ensure the glue dries to the appropriate point. The glue needs to be tacky before installation can proceed. The glue spreading and tile install process will be completed in stages so as to ensure the glue doesn’t dry completely before the tiles are installed.

LVP Installation
A click vinyl will require the same preparation as VCT, but it is installed in a similar fashion to laminate or engineered product, clicked together. However, due to the extra steps of preparation required, vinyl is generally more costly to install than a high-quality laminate product.

Coriey runs a wonderful business in the White Rock South Surrey area. His vinyl flooring in my office in South Surrey, and doing my laminate flooring in White Rock I can say these guys are a five star company. I would absolutely recommend Coriey in the team!
I recently contacted Floor Envy for the second time in the last number of years in order to have an old carpet removed and have laminate flooring put in for a new studio space. I brought samples home, picked the one liked, brought them back and Reece suggested another option which was less expensive, looked the same as my first choice and was perfect for my needs. I so appreciated that he took the time to do that research and as a businessperson was comfortable selling me a good product but one which made less profit for the company. Coriey was appreciative of my return business and gave me a good price on other parts of the job. They were professional and very considerate of my needs. Frank and his team did another wonderful job on prepping and laying the flooring and I couldn't be happier with the results. I can't wait to start moving my furniture and equipment into my new studio which is now airy and full of reflected light. Many thanks to all the team at Floor Envy.
